The beautiful coastline north of Brookings has many sea stacks and fascinating rock formations. A drive along the coast reveals plenty of waysides and parks for picnics, views and photo ops.

Brookings proper is a bustling town with lots of shopping stops and some good restaurants. Wander down to the harbor for more local color.

Brookings boasts a warmer climate than most of the the rest of the coast, and this far southern coastal area is often refferred to as the "Banana Belt".
